Is there a Scottish Road to Socialism?

Book Launch and Debate, Unity Office, Glasgow

The left in Scotland is sharply divided over independence having its own 'unionist-nationalist' divide. The faultlines concern whether independence will set the struggle for reform and socialism backwards or forwards.

The book "Is there a Scottish Road to Socialism?", published by Scottish Left Review in 2007, has contributors from both sides of the independence debate.

On 12 April 2007, four contributers joined to share their thoughts on this important subject, two speakers from each side of the debate. This discussion was chaired by the book's editor Gregor Gall, and took part in the Unity Office of the Communist Party of Britain.

Copies can be obtained from Unity Books, aswell as from other outlets (such as amazon.co.uk).

Also of interest.....

In Scotland, the Communist Party of Britain has also produced Breaking the British State, a pamphlet which sets forth in some detail why we believe that "freedom depends on first breaking the political grip of the rich and powerful at British level."
